Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia working on £38m Arturo Vidal transfer
Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia has reportedly started work on signing Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal.
The Russian executive, who has been referred to by some as ‘the most powerful woman in football’, is one of Roman Abramovich’s closest allies – conducting fine work on transfer negotiations during her time at Stamford Bridge.
Her latest job could be to help incoming manager Antonio Conte land one of his favourite players in Vidal, who has been requested by the Italian tactician as part of a midfield revamp.
AS Roma’s Radja Nainggolan is also a top target and could be close to a move, but Granovskaia has now been in touch with Vidal’s agent about a reunion with Conte.
According to Calciomercato.com, an initial approach was made last week, and Chelsea hope to seal a deal for the Chile international at around £38million.
Vidal shone under Conte at Juventus, and has been similarly impressive in his first season at the Allianz Arena, though there is some speculation that he doesn’t get on with some of his team-mates.
The 28-year-old could now be on his way to England if Granovskaia can strike another major deal for the Blues.
